What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui is the application of an ancient Chinese traditional practice that deals with natural energy and the interaction of natural elements. Feng Shui can be applied to buildings, all living creatures and landscapes in order to promote harmony, balance and natural progress.
Feng Shui is based on the Chinese philosophy and principles of ‘The Tao’ (The Way). In essence ‘The Tao’ says that ‘Everything comes from Nothing. From Nothing comes One. One creates two, Yin and Yang. Two creates Three, the Trigram and Trigrams build into Hexagrams which form the basis of the ‘I Ching’. The Feng Shui system is formed from natural Universal energy that powers and gives life and movement to all living things.
This energy flows through Nature and in Feng Shui is recognised as the elements of Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Tree. The natural, harmonious cycle of supportive, nourishing energy through the positive cycle of the five elements is harnessed through Feng Shui. It is the application of these principles that leads to positive transformation and empowerment in the lives of those who experience Feng Shui. |
